As a native Portlander- a rare breed- I have seen first hand the growth or our big little city! As a REALTOR it is a genuine pleasure to meet buyers relocating or returning to the Portland area. I especially enjoy sharing our assets-loads of great restaurants, easy access to Casco Bay,our beautiful Western and Eastern Promenades, local markets like Rosemont and the farmers market at Monument Square and Deering Oaks, shopping in the Old Port not to mention our new Portland food CoOp of which I am one of many proud "owners". Personally one of my favorite spots is our grogeous Baxter Boulevard and its walking/running/biking trail that winds all the way to the downtown waterfront and Commercial Street. Although my two children live in NYC and Boston they cannot wait to come home to Portland their all time favorite city and mine too :)
Why did you choose Portland? I am a born and raised Portlander so I guess Portland chose me!
Who are Portlanders you admire and why? Entrepreneurs opening/operating shops, markets, restaurants and businesses working to make Portland better than ever!
What do you like to do with out-of-towners? I love to show off/point out the walkability, multi facets and overall beauty of our city. Most often though going out to one of our fabulous restaurants is always a hit!
Where's your "happy place" on the peninsula? Eastern Promenade overlooking the Casco Bay islands on a warm sunny summer day...simply breathtaking.
What's the most surprising thing about this city? Portland has everything a larger city has to offer but without the high density, high traffic, high crime of our larger sister cities. We really are "the way life should be"
What's your favorite indulgence and where do you find it? Soakology!! The most relaxing place on earth with the comfy chairs, scented waters to sooth your tired feet and sensational reflexology; the perfect place to spend an afternoon.
What's the most under-appreciated place or thing in town? Evergreen Park on Stevens Avenue a serene place to walk, run, bike or stroll down to the duck pond... a perfect little spot for a picnic if you want to feel miles away from the city.
I write fiction, short stories, and poetry. Lately, it's mostly haiku inspired by what I dream about at night.
My work is collected both locally and internationally. I've been educating art students in New England since the Millennium.
