I create learning and teaching opportunities for Maine artists

Job Artist, Business Owner / Still Life Studio

Lives In Portland

I'm a painter and Maine native. I own Still Life Studio, an artist studio and teaching space located in West Bayside, Portland. I love being in community with other artists, escaping to rural oases whenever possible, and finding new ways to facilitate living a creative life in Maine.

Why did you choose Portland? I was born here. But I went away for about ten years and came back. This is where I belong.

Who are Portlanders you admire and why? Grace Cleaves, Adam Burke, LK Weiss, Kate Anker, Jennifer Nielsen, Susan DeGrandpre, oh the list could go on forever. I feel very rooted and supported here and I admire anyone making efforts to connect people and improve the beauty and prosperity of our community.

What do you like to do with out-of-towners? Food, beach trips, ferry rides, downtown walks, studio visits, country drives. Nothing particularly touristy, but rather more like everyday Maine life.

Where's your "happy place" on the peninsula? My studio, Local Sprouts, Running With Scissors, East End Beach, the wharf at night.

What's your favorite indulgence and where do you find it? Kombucha flights at Urban Farm Fermentory.
