Jurors choose artwork for 2025 Yarmouth Art Festival

Jurors have selected 169 pieces from 140 artists from across Maine for the 17th annual Yarmouth Art Festival.

Submissions totaled 698, a new record, presenting a challenge to the jury to choose from a great many quality pieces.  The online  Show Catalog displays all the pieces selected, along with artist information, prices, dimensions, etc.

This year’s 17th annual show and sale will be in-person Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Oct. 15, 16, 17 from 10am-7pm and Saturday, Oct. 18, 10am-2pm.  The event will be held at St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church, 396 Gilman Road in Yarmouth. After the in-person show closes, it will move online Oct. 18-Nov. 1.

Artists have been emailed instructions for delivering artwork to the venue, and those instructions are all in the Rules, linked at the top of this page.

Entry fees and sales commissions for 2025 will support three local community nonprofits: Boys and Girls Club of Southern Maine, Equality Maine, and New Mainers Assistance Program.  (See below for more on each of these organizations)

Jurors returning for 2025 are:

– Peggy Greenhut, founder and former owner of Greenhut Gallery in Portland

– Bob Keyes, editorial director at Colby College in Waterville, and formerly arts reporter for the Maine Sunday Telegram.

– Wes LaFountain, freelance curator, most recently at Cove Street Arts in Portland and currently at Phillips Exeter Academy, NH.
