Wonderful to see spring arrive in Maine and the Arts in bloom again. We are very excited that this year the Addison Woolley group will be showing our work from the beginning of April through the end of May at the Art House on Pleasant Street.

The Addison Woolley group is an eclectic mix of photographers, painters and printmakers, nine in all, who share a decade’s plus history together in a variety of locations. Described by the Portland Press Herald as “an itinerant group of talented artists”, our members include photographers Susan Porter, Jan Pieter van Voorst van Beest, Fran Vita-Taylor, Diane Hudson, Ruth Sylmor and Dave Wade, painter/ printmaker Andea van Voorst van Beest, and mixed media artist Jim Kelly

Originally founded 17 year ago by Susan Porter, the Addison Woolley Gallery had our first home on Market St. We relocated in 2010 to become the first gallery on outer Washington Ave. before the area became fashionable. Since then, we have managed to stay together as a group, and like nomads kept on moving, exhibiting fairly regularly in various venues as a group, as well as individually.  And now, this April and May, we are very excited to be showing at the Art House on Pleasant Street. Please join us for our opening reception on Thursday, April 3rd, 5-7 PM, meet the artists, and enjoy the friendly ambience at the Art House, right next door to Caldwell Bakery Building, on Pleasant St. in downtown Portland.
