Create a dedicated sketchbook practice with the guidance of Judy LaBrasca! At the first class meeting, we'll make a small sketchbook to fill up during the week. Students will receive weekly homework prompts to encourage the exploration of different drawing techniques and materials. We will go over strategies for working every day and will cover graphite pencil, colored pencil, chalk pastels, oil pastels, watercolor, and ink. Subject matter will include objects, landscapes, and people. We will explore slow drawing and fast drawing, drawing from observation, drawing from memory, and drawing from imagination. This class uses drawing exercises and games that are fun, energizing, and relaxing. Suitable for all levels, especially beginners and those wishing to get back into drawing after a break, this class has a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
