This class is a forum where students can bring their photographs to share with others, to discuss, and to get feedback in order for new ideas to evolve within a body of work. Through thoughtful and constructive critique sessions, each student will have the opportunity to learn the language of visual communication in support of one another's photographic endeavors.
During classes, we will also cover a variety of topics, including visualizing a project and how to produce and properly sequence a portfolio. Students will also choose topics of importance to them to research and present to the class, with the instructor as moderator. Example topics may include photographic techniques used in the field and editing, specific genres of photography, presentation methods, and reflections on historical or contemporary photography.
Meets every other week.
