Explore the expressive possibilities of printed collage and mixed media through layering, color and texture pairings! Participants will learn how to create hand printed images on rice paper using block printmaking techniques. We will explore both classic block printing and reductive techniques. Next, we will create dynamic compositions by collaging with printed materials. This is a multi-step class series that explores a variety of 2D techniques including strategies for working with color and tips and tricks to create compelling compositions with a lot of emphasis on layering and interesting color pairings. This is a great class for people who want to play and explore with printed mixed media and/or use it to further cultivate their painting or drawing work.
