Experiment with some small metals forging and forming to create a set of measuring spoons, a coffee scoop or bar spoons. These kitchen tools get used every day and become an important part of your routine- whether you're making a pot of coffee with your pour over, measuring out spices for a meal or getting ready to kick back and mix some drinks, spoons are essential tools for our everyday lives.

In this 4-day workshop, we will start off utilizing the hydraulic press to form measuring spoons, learn the basics of soldering, fabrication, forming and riveting as well as some basic forging.

We will walk through the how-tos of basic metalsmithing to create one of a kind spoons for daily use and you'll walk away with knowing how to form basic shapes, solder and perform cold connections.

This is an exploratory technical workshop and students can expect to leave with multiple samples and/or finished pieces. Open to all skill levels, experience with a torch and jeweler's saw is helpful but not required.
