I search through old books, extracting and recontextualizing pictures and texts. Gravitating toward outdated reference materials, I repurpose them with a self-evolved style of collage, presenting obsolete materials in a manner entirely separate from their intended use.

I convert these collages into multilayer stencil images using spray paint, canvas, wood, and found surfaces. The stencil technique blends a collage into one cohesive image, distancing it further from its source material. I also use the stencil technique to create more traditional portraits.
