Open to all levels, this class aims to first give a basic introduction to drawing as a practice, and then explore the many ways to draw on clay. We will explore underglaze pencil and pastel, sgraffito, and other underglaze application techniques while learning about line quality, value, and contour. We will be working with both paper and clay, sketching every class as well as learning basic slab building techniques. While this is not a wheel throwing class, if you have experience at the wheel you may bring previously thrown bisque to use for this class.

$30.00 materials fee

Please note that we will mostly be working with white clay. If you are bringing in previously made pots they must be from our Studio’s cone six clay.
