Rooted in a rich Alvin Ailey lineage with a cadre of 16 stunning dancers, Complexions Contemporary Ballet is hailed as a “matchless American dance company” by the Philadelphia Inquirer and “game changing” by London’s The Guardian. Led by dance icons Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson, Complexions awakens audiences worldwide to a new, exciting genre with their singular approach to reinventing contemporary ballet. Along with signature repertoire, the gorgeous and athletic company shares their 2019 work “Woke,” a potent and moving ballet that employs the music of Kendrick Lamar, Logic, Drake, and others to convey a message of social consciousness.
