Comic Arts Maine Portland Festival Returns Saturday, April 11 With 90+ Cartoonists and Free Public Programming!

The Portland Public Library and Comic Arts Maine Portland (CAMP) will host the second annual Comic Arts Maine Portland Festival on Saturday, April 11, 2026. The free, all-ages festival will take place at the downtown library and feature more than 90 cartoonists, small-press publishers, and art collectives.
The one-day event features comics, graphic novels, and zines for sale, along with five discussion panels and five free workshops. Expanded children’s programming this year includes interactive readings and a live cartoonist draw-off.

Featured guests include:
-Amanda Castillo, co-author of the Mapmaker’s Series
-Archie Bongiovanni, Ignatz Award–nominated author of Mimosa and Leo Rising
-Raúl The Third, New York Times bestselling author of Vamos! Let’s Cross the Bridge
-Colleen AF Venable, Eisner Award–nominated writer of the Pet Shop Private Eye and Katie the Catsitter series
-Cassidy Wasserman, a Maine-based cartoonist and debut author of On Guard!
-Court Normandin, Maine-based author of Saints for Girls

CAMP’s stated mission is to support and promote Maine’s independent comics community through public programming and creator-focused opportunities. Sponsors include the Illustration Department at Maine College of Art & Design, Back Cove Books, Boston University, Portland Arts and Technology High School, The Maine Arts and Humanities Council, Jakprints, Radiator comics, and additional community partners. The festival is produced by Comic Arts Maine Portland in partnership with the library.
