Running with Scissors

Join us for a festive celebration of creativity and craftsmanship at Running With Scissors (RWS) Art Studios! This unique event, a 3-Day Holiday Art Sale and Open Studios, will take place on December 13 - 15, 2024 at our 16,000 square-foot maker space in the East Bayside neighborhood of Portland, ME (250 Anderson St.). Peruse, shop, and taste with local artists and makers showcasing their work in a vibrant, collaborative environment. 


Friday, December 13: 4-8 pm

Saturday, December 14: 10 am-5 pm

Sunday, December 15: noon-5 pm


Explore a diverse range of mediums, and find everything from paintings and textiles to handmade jewelry, ceramics, ornaments, and photography. Meet the talented creators behind the art, learn about their processes, and find the perfect one-of-a-kind gifts for your loved ones. 


Event Highlights:

- Artist Studios: Browse and shop from over 40 members working with diverse mediums, artistic goals, backgrounds, ages and experiences. Each artist will be offering unique pieces that reflect their personal style. 


- Refreshments: Enjoy tasty treats and drinks from local vendors: Meet on the Street Food Truck, Vagabond Coffee, Vina Ann’s homemade baked goods, and Three of Strong spirits.


Whether you’re an art enthusiast or simply looking for a special gift, our Holiday Art Sale is the perfect destination to celebrate the season and support local artists. Bring your friends and family, and let’s make this holiday season unforgettable!


This holiday season we will also be participating in post-pandemic revival of Portland Print Crawl, a holiday self guided tour of local print shops! Participating studios include: The Art Department, Little Chair Printing, Pickwick Independent Press, Peregrine Press, Wolfe Editions, and Strong Arm Bindery at Running With Scissors. Our print community is special and we want you to know them all! 

Pick up your handbound letterpress printed passport at any of the participating print shops. Get a unique stamp from each location to be entered to win a handmade poster from pickwick independent press! Also, each studio will have wonderful holiday gifts as well as new things to discover along the way.
