Tweeters Turn Greeters

"Some of the most creative people in town."  That's how co-host Rich Brooks, president of flyte new media, described the crowd last night at the February Tweetup, held at Spread on Commercial Street in the Old Port.

Every month, Twitter devotees from throughout Portland and beyond come together to -- well, to come together.  To put a face to the Twitterers they otherwise know online.  It all happens at an area restaurant, with plenty of (free) food and (cash bar) cocktails to lubricate the conversations.  Some of the people you know, many you don't, but it's a great way to mix it up with other creatives in the area.

Want to join the party?  Maine Tweetup is an open group on Facebook, so just check in there.  The page has 400 members already, and the list is growing like topsy.

It's fun to meet,

To laugh, to greet,

To drink, to eat,

With friends who tweet!
