I work for the internet

Job eMarketing manager / Diversified Communications

Lives In South Portland

I love boating, hiking, kayaking and it turns out I love marketing too! My job at Diversified Communications is to create and implement a digital strategy for our many tradeshows, conferences, eMedia websites, and publications. I am very competitive and a little obsessed with helping our marketing teams win online.

I grew up in Maine and have also lived in Canada and Belize. I love to travel but enjoy living in Maine. I went to USM to study business and fell in love with the idea of having my own business. When I left college, I became a bit of a serial entrepreneur and started multiple companies; including a direct marketing agency, a car magazine, and a video production company. I came to Diversified so that I could share creative insights and “outside the box” marketing ideas and make sure they are successful. I find it so rewarding to be a part of the creative process. Mark Twain said, “The secret of success is making your vocation your vacation.” Smart guy!!

Why did you choose Portland? I have lived all over the place and Portland is the one place I always come back to. The people here are great, and it's close to the ocean, mountains, and the lakes so I can do all the things that I love doing with some of the best people on earth.

What do you like to do with out-of-towners? Everyone has got to eat and Portland never disappoints. The food and brew selection here is amazing, and there is always a hot new restaurant or bar to check out.

Where's your "happy place" on the peninsula? Running on the Mackworth Island Trail or the Back Bay.

What's the most surprising thing about this city? The amount of creative people and companies here is really surprising. This is such a creative city that I made my twitter handle @creationland as a play on words from Maine's slogan "Vacationland"

Do you have a serendipity spot? Where do you always bump into good people? After work Brian Boru is my favorite place to unwind and bump into great people. In the summer any spot with a deck is my happy place
