Lives In Portland (Deering Center)
Moved to Portland in September, 2014. Over the previous 15 years I had been coming here about a half dozen times a year to visit. You could say it was a rather long courtship. Before moving here, I spent 15+ years in NYC as an award-winning creative executive, focused on strategy, operations and content development within the digital space. I am currently a managing partner at WiderWiake, a global digital consultancy, and an entrepreneur in residence for the Venture Capital group, Revel Partners.
I've also been a producer and executive at multiple companies in both the digital and traditional entertainment spaces. I was the co-founder and chief creative officer at Digital Broadcasting Group as well as the EVP of brand content at Alloy Digital. Prior to that I was an indpependent producer and had extensive experience in the world of television production for such networks as A&E, History Channel, VH1, Starz, Discovery, The Food Network and Fox, to name just a few.
Why did you choose Portland? Lifestyle and family. Moved here from NYC to be closer to family and to raise our own.
Where's your "happy place" on the peninsula? Macworth island at any time of the year.
What's the most surprising thing about this city? For most, I suspect it's the surprisingly vibrant food scene. But I'm always surprised at the population figures for the city. It is a deceptively small city but with all the cosmopolitan trappings I'd usually associate with a larger metropolis.
What's the most under-appreciated place or thing in town? The myriad islands that surround the city. Visually charming and delightful to visit and decompress within.
