I'm an artist and guide. I help people to create a new tapestry of their worklife. They may weave through a thread from the past or choose a new one that reflects current values, competencies or interests. In any case, it's my job to make sure their creation has depth but also fits the marketplace. My work is strategic, creative and practical.
My company, Heart At Work Associates, works in partnership with a wide range of professionals including many who use their creative talents to earn a living. All of our clients are looking to change their work tapestry in some way.
I'm a "Mainer" who left the state to explore new places, but returned because Maine, and especially Portland, is a great place to live and work.
Who are Portlanders you admire and why? Lois Rickett, ED of Family Crisis Services and Karin Anderson, Sr Director, Goodwill of NNE for their dedication and work on behalf of women and girls in Maine.
What do you like to do with out-of-towners? Always head to Portland Headlight and Two Lights State Park for a picnic.
Where's your "happy place" on the peninsula? The walking path up to the Eastern Promenade--the view is spectacular in any season.
What's the most surprising thing about this city? How much it offers for entertainment, culture and food for such a small place, population-wise.
What's your favorite indulgence and where do you find it? Any of the wonderful array of treats at Aurora Provisions on Pine Street. Being there makes me smile! A close second is a fish buritto and agua fresca of the day from El Corazon food truck--it's amazingly fresh and delicious!
Do you have a serendipity spot? Where do you always bump into good people? Walking to a fun lunch spot on upper Exchange Street--friends and colleagues always have the same idea!
I daydream and I create... painting, writing poetry, Maine and Portland are passions. I enjoy stories do you have a story to share?
